Douglas G. Cummins, MD, FACS
Dr. Cummins is Board Certified in GeneralSurgery by the American Board of Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
Born and raised in Midland, Dr. Cummins, is a native West Texan. At the age of ten, he suffered a near-fatal ruptured appendix. As a result of that experience, Dr. Cummins made the decision to become a surgeon to positively impact other lives, as his had been.
Dr. Cummins attended Robert E. Lee High School in Midland, where he played on a football team coached by Spike Dykes.
After graduating from high school, Dr. Cummins received a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from Texas A&M University and earned a Doctorate of Medicine from Texas Tech University Health Science Center, School of Medicine in Lubbock.
Dr. Cummins completed a 5-year General Surgery Residency Program at Michigan State University/Kalamazoo Center for Medical Studies in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Following residency training, he has been in private practice in Plainview and Waco, Texas.
When not at work, Dr. Cummins is a football fan and enjoys the outdoors (he’s always ready to take a road trip in his RV). He also serves on the Elder board of Plainview Bible Church.
Kristilee Cates, LVN
A native of Plainview, Kristilee graduated from Plainview High School and received her nursing degree from South Plains College. She is married to Jerry, a hauler for Cargill, and they a son and daughter. "I love working at Plainview Surgical Care," says Kristilee. "Being a part of patient care is a very rewarding experience." During her free time, Kristilee enjoys being outdoors and participating in activities with her family.
Gracie Gonzales, Nurse Assistant
Gracie graduated from Plainview High School. She worked for a local nursing home before joining Plainview Surgical Care as a nurse assistant. Gracie speaks Spanish. "I really like being able to help take care of the patients," said Gracie. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, which includes her husband Andy, a computer operator, and their two sons and daughter.
Christine Cummins, Office Manager
A graduate of Robert E. Lee High School in Midland and Texas A&M University, Christine is the office manager for Plainview Surgical Care. She and her husband, Dr. Cummins, have two daughters. "The best part of my job is spending time with my husband and working with the people in our community," said Christine. When she is not managing the office or with her family, she enjoys reading and scrapbooking. Christine volunteers as the coordinator for children’s ministry and teaches elementary Sunday School at Plainview Bible Church.
Kaci Harper, Receptionist
Kaci was born in El Paso, Texas and worked at The Shoe Dept. before coming to work for Plainview Surgical Care. Kaci teaches preschoolSunday School at Plainview BibleChurch. In her spare time,Kaci enjoys reading. |
